They will appear at the end of time and cause massive destruction, but they will ultimately be defeated by God.

“Gog and Magog” was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an in the Almighty’s saying: {Until when he reached between the two barriers, he found besides them a people who could hardly understand a word. Verses } (Al-Kahf: 93 et seq.). These verses show us how, in ancient times, Gog and Magog were people of corruption, evil, and power, with nothing stopping them from the injustice of those around them due to their power and tyranny, until the righteous king Dhul-Qarnayn came, and the people of that country complained to him about their evil, and asked him to He builds a dam between them and “Gog and Magog” to protect them from them. He responded to their request, and erected an impenetrable dam made of pieces of iron between two great mountains, and melted copper on it, until it became stronger, so he confined them to that dam, and their evil was repelled from the country and the people.
The previous verses included a clear indication that the survival of “Gog” and “Magog” confined by the barrier is only for a known time {so when the promise of my Lord comes, He will cause it to be destroyed}, and this time is what the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - told about in his hadiths, that Their emergence will occur at the end of time, near the coming of the Hour.
“Gog” and “Magog” were also mentioned in another place in the Qur’an, showing their large number and the speed of their exit, in the Almighty’s saying: { Until when you open Gog and Magog, and they are slipping away from every direction} (Al-Anbiya: 96).Gog and Magog are mentioned in the Prophet’s hadith
The Prophetic hadiths painted clearer features of the world of Gog and Magog and revealed many aspects of their ambiguity. So I built that they have a system and a leader whose opinion they follow, and that the dam that Dhul-Qarnayn confined them to is still standing, and that it prevents them from achieving their ambitions to invade the land and corrupt it, and so out of their eagerness to demolish it, they go out every morning to dig this dam, and even if they are about to demolish it, they delay the digging until the next day. So they come to it, and God has restored it stronger than it was, and when God permits their departure, they dig until when they are almost finished, their prince says to them: Go back to it tomorrow and you will dig it - God willing - and they return to it as it was when they left it, so they dig it and go out to the people, drink the river water, and pass on. On Lake Tiberias, the first of them drinks it, then the last of them comes and says: There was water here!! People fortify themselves in fear of them, and then their arrogance increases and they shoot their arrows into the sky, and they return with traces of blood on them, as a trial from God and a calamity. They say: We defeated the people of the earth and defeated the people of heaven. Then God sends upon them worms that come out from behind their heads and kill them. They become food for the animals of the earth until they become fat from the abundance of their meat. As it narrated by Ibn Majah in his Sunan .
The hadiths indicate that the time in which they emerge has the means of power and is superior to the rest of the people. This is either because they are militarily advanced and have achieved techniques that enable them to annihilate others and control their country, or because the time of their exit is after the disappearance of this material civilization, and the people return to fighting using means. Primitive and traditional, and this is confirmed by what was mentioned by Ibn
It is mentioned in some narrations that Muslims will burn the bows, arrows, and shields of “Gog and Magog” for seven years. As with Iben Majah and others .
The hadiths also revealed some of their moral characteristics, that they have broad faces, small eyes, blond hair, and round faces like gears. Narrated by Ahmed.
It also showed the extent of their disbelief and stubbornness, and that they are the majority of the people of Hell. In the hadith, God Almighty says to Adam on the Day of Resurrection: Bring out the Hellfire, and he says: And what is the Hellfire? So God says: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine. The Companions - may God be pleased with them - were frightened and said: O Messenger of God, where is that one? He said - peace and blessings be upon him -: (Rejoice, for among you is a man, and from Gog and Magog there are a thousand.) Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
The hadiths also indicated that their emergence will occur at the end of time, near the coming of the Hour, and at a time when evil and corruption will prevail over its people. He - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: (The Hour will not arise until there are ten signs before it: the rising of the sun from the west, the emergence of the beast, and the emergence of Gog and Magog. ..) Today, he opened the dam of Gog and Magog like this, and shaved his thumb, which Next, Zainab said to him: O Messenger of God, are the righteous among us perishing? He said: Yes, if there is a lot of wickedness.) Narrated by Al-Bukhari.As for the order of their exit within the major signs of the Hour, the hadiths indicate that when the Antichrist emerges, Christ, peace be upon him, will descend after him, and then Gog and Magog will emerge, so God commands Jesus - peace be upon him - not to fight them, but rather to go with the believers with him to Mount Al-Tur, and they will be besieged there. Their hunger reaches a great extent, and they then pray to God to protect them from their evil, so God sends worms upon them in their necks, and they become as dead as a single soul, and the earth is filled with the stench of their odor, so God sends birds like the necks of camels, which pick them up and cast them wherever God wills. The people are safe and the land produces its blessings and fruits, until the group of people eats a single pomegranate, and the people of the village are sufficient for the camel they milk at a time.
Muslims perform Hajj to the House after their destruction, as in the hadith: ( Let the House perform Hajj and perform Umrah after the emergence of Gog and Magog) Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
Weak and fabricated hadiths about Gog and Magog
After some features of the world of Gog and Magog have become clear through Qur’anic verses and authentic hadiths, perhaps it is appropriate to mention some weak and fabricated hadiths describing them, which contributed to giving a kind of aura and mystery around them. Among those hadiths are:
The hadith (“Gog is a nation, and Magog is a nation. Each nation is four thousand nations. A man among them will not die until he looks at a thousand males from his family, all of whom have carried weapons”). It was narrated by Al-Tabarani and Ibn Adi in Al-Kamil, who said: “This is an objectionable and fabricated hadith.”
Among them is ( Indeed, Gog and Magog are from the descendants of Adam, and if they were sent to the people, they would ruin their livelihood for them, and not one of them will die except that he leaves behind a thousand or more of his offspring, and indeed, behind them are three nations of Ta’wil, Ta’aris, and a ritual) Narrated by Al-Tayalisi, and Al-Hafiz Ibn Katheer said in Al-Bidayah and Al-Nihayah: “Hadith “It is very strange, its chain of transmission is weak, and it is very objectionable.”
Among them is that Hudhayfah bin Al-Yaman - may God be pleased with him - asked the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - about “Gog” and “Magog” and he said to him: () Gog is a nation and Magog is a nation. Each nation is four hundred thousand nations. A man will not die until he looks at a thousand males. In front of his hands, each one carried a weapon.) I said: O Messenger of God: Describe them for us? He said: (They are three types: So he classified among them the likes of rice. I said: What is rice? He said: Trees in the Levant. The tree is twenty and a hundred cubits tall in the sky. These are the ones who have neither horses nor iron. And a type of them that spreads out with one ear and wraps itself around the other. They do not pass by an elephant or an animal. There is no camel or pig except that they ate it, and whoever died among them they ate it. Their beginning was in the Levant, and their beginning was in Khurasan. They drank the rivers of the East and Lake Tiberias.
This was brief information about the world of "Gog and Magog", through which we learned the extent of the fear that afflicts people due to the emergence of this mighty army, and they refrain from performing Hajj and Umrah with it, until God lifts this cloud, and Gog and Magog are destroyed, and the Muslims live after their destruction in prosperity, grace, and security. God sends a wind that takes the souls of the believers, and its sparks remain on the earth, and upon them the Hour will come.
